Guidelines for Guest Bloggers

As blogs go, Whispers in Purple is a bit eclectic. By that I mean I’m open to a wide variety of topics, provided they are all written from a Christian worldview. Guest blog posts are Monday-Friday.

Some things I’m looking for:
New (or recent) book release spotlight, including blog book tours

Interview. I will supply the questions.

The story behind the story. A little peek into how this story came about.

Writing tips & hints focusing on the writing craft, self-editing, the process of re-writing, researching, etc.

Guest posts in your own words on a topic of your choosing.

Book Reviews. I will require a digital—preferably Kindle or through Net Galley—copy of your book and enough time to get it read. The review will appear on Whispers in Purple blog as well as on Amazon and/or elsewhere, as applicable.

For all of the above, I ask for your headshot*, bio, and social media links— where readers can find you (email optional)

For book spotlights, in addition to the above, I will require the book cover image*, a short blurb/synopsis, purchase links. Plus:
Book Title:
Author Name:
Release Date:
Series/Stand Alone:
Target Audience:

If you choose to do a giveaway (optional) please indicate whether digital (eBook) or print. Unless you tell me otherwise, I will run the giveaway for one week from date of your post and will draw a winner myself through and will notify both you and the winner via email. It will be up to you to arrange for delivery of the prize to the winner.

Note: a few author guest bloggers have elected to hold the giveaway on their own website, providing a link back within their post content. This is fine, go for it!

I schedule all posts to go live at 1:00 AM Central Time. The day before yours is to go live, I will send you the permalink which you can use for direct access and for any promo you’d like to do. I encourage that. Take advantage of the social media buttons at the bottom of the post as well. The more we promote, the better the exposure. It’s a win-win for both of us.

To query, use the Contact Peg tab on the menu bar above. Be sure the subject line reflects the nature of your query.

All requested items above are to be sent as email attachments to me at

*Please note, all images are to be sent in JPEG format. NOT in the body of the email or embedded in a Word document.

Thanks! Looking forward to working with you.
