Please welcome ...
author Valerie Goree to Wahoo Wednesday with her soon-to-be-released book Day of Reckoning which sounds to me like a fantastic read. Oh, there's also a giveaway you don't want to miss!
Take it away, Valerie!
My latest romantic suspense novel, Day of Reckoning, is scheduled for release August 30,
2019. The heroine, Lela Ortiz, is a valued member of the International
Retrieval Organization. Agent Ortiz’s next assignment is to locate kidnapped
businessman Chuck Davenport. As a seasoned operative, she is capable of
handling the case, and is therefore perturbed when the boss insists she work
with Jay, the victim’s brother-in-law.
As a former Marine, Jay might be qualified to assist her,
but does he have to pray at every opportunity? Although a capable agent, Lela
has a troubled past, and her distrust of men has spilled over into her
spiritual life. How can she do her job with Jay’s presence reminding her at
every turn that she needs to reevaluate her priories?
Jay loves his sister Beth and her family and will protect
them at all costs. When she asks him to work with IRO to locate Chuck, he can’t
refuse. He even acquiesces to taking orders from feisty Agent Ortiz. During the
investigation, he learns of Lela’s tragic past, and determines to help her
overcome her cynicism.
Sean, the Davenport’s special needs son responds to sign
language. When Chuck communicates his captors demands via videos, he uses
signs to convey clues. Jay interprets for Lela, and by following these leads, not
only do they discover who may have kidnapped Chuck, they also uncover disturbing
information about him.
About the book:
International Retrieval Organization Agent Lela Ortiz is
assigned the kidnapping case of businessman, Chuck Davenport. When her boss
allows Jay Vashon, Chuck’s brother-in-law to assist, Lela accepts the help with
reservations, especially when Jay prays at the most inopportune times.
Jay would do anything to help bring Chuck home, even work
with feisty Agent Ortiz. As Jay and Lela decipher clues Chuck sends to his son
with special needs, they are forced to work in close proximity.
Can Jay break through the barrier Lela has constructed
around her heart? Will Lela be able to overcome her distrust of men and God?
And Chuck? Can the pair locate him before the ransom
deadline?
Day of Reckoning is a stand-alone sequel to Weep in the
Night, in which IRO agent Lela Ortiz was introduced. An IRO agent in Day of
Reckoning will feature in the final book in the series.
I worked with children with special needs for twenty-five
years, and always include a special child in my novels.

Hi, Patti, thanks so much for stopping by. And I apologize for the comment verification errors. I never saw them ... guess moderation isn't the best idea for this blog.
DeleteThe best thing about Val's books is her ability to reel the reader in. She keeps the pace of the story going and and keeps the pages turning. Plus throws some good Biblical principles in here and there. She is one of my A list writers.
