THE
PRUNING
a Book Spotlight for Whispers in Purple
by author Jan Cline
Book two is
the latest release for this series and it’s titled The Pruning. Its story
follows the Wilding family from book 1, Heaven’s
Sky. Both books tell of the hardships our parents and grandparents endured
during some of America’s most trying times. Not enough is said about these
events in school history books, and I find many adults today don’t have a clear
picture of the era. I love sharing the stories from the heart of the American
experience.
Here is a
peek at The Pruning:
Clarissa Wilding can’t run away from
her past. Moving from the drought-ridden Kansas plains to the green hills of
the Pacific Northwest has only drawn her secrets to the surface, threatening
the new life she has built with her husband, Frank, and their boys. When Frank
introduces her to his brother, everything changes, and Clarissa must deal with
new revelations that test their family bond and may forever alter their
happiness.
This series
is full of relationship challenges and authentic settings I think you’ll like.
One reviewer
states: “Jan truly has a gift for storytelling. Her characters come to
life on the page, and the setting becomes tangible wilt her descriptive
narrative.”
Book 3 will
be out by the end of 2019 and will wind up the series near the end of WW2. Join

Jan, thank you so much for being my guest this week and for sharing your book with us. I enjoy reading about the WWII era. Hope to see you back when Book 3 releases. Blessings to you in your writing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for having me! I will keep you posted on Book 3.
DeleteJan, I don't like reading series' books out of sequence. Should I read Book 1, "Heaven's Sky" first?
ReplyDeleteYes, I would. It will introduce you to the characters that are also in Book 2. Then Book 2 introduces the main characters in Book 3. I like reading in sequence too.
